Adwoa Safo requests $8,500 from 'broke' NHIA for US trip

The Deputy Majority Leader and Minister of State in charge of Procurement, Sara Adwoa Safo has requested $8,500 ailing from NHIA for US training trip. She requested $8,500 for tuition as well as funds to cover her tickets and accommodation.

This is regardless of the fact that, her activities both in Parliament and as a Minister, are not linked to the functions of the NHIA. After the public outrage over the report, Ms. Safo, also the MP for Dome Kwabenya, said in a statement that the request was withdrawn following “Parliament’s decision to foot the entire cost of the training which includes the cost of her tickets and accommodation.”
