Former GMA boss accused of corruption appointed to chair GRA board

The former boss of the Ghana Maritime Authority who was in the news for allegedly installing 13 air conditioners in his office, has been appointed chairman board of the Ghana Revenue Authority.

The letter appointing Mr Kwame Owusu which was dated 18th June 2019 and signed by Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, instructed Mr Owusu to indicate his acceptance or otherwise of his appointment within 14 days of receipt of the appointment letter.

Mr Owusu who was the Chief Executive Officer of the GMA was in the news some months ago over accusations of financial misappropriation at the company. The allegations levelled against him were that he had superintended over questionable expenditure at the authority, including spending a million cedis to renovate his official residence.
