PPA boss busted for selling government contracts

Adjenim Boateng Adjei, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Public Procurement Authority (PPA) has being unmasked in an exposé over sale of government contracts.

In a documentary by Investigative Journalist Manasseh Azuri Awuni titled “Contracts for Sale” the PPA Boss is reported to have established his own company under the name Talent Discovery Limited incorporated in June 2017 which has won a number of government contracts through restrictive tendering.

Talent Discovery Limited has contracts with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Works and Housing, and four contracts with the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives to construct dams under the government’s One Village One Dam Project. At the time of filing this report, Talent Discovery Limited has been shortlisted for restrictive tendering by the Bank of Ghana for the supply and installation of air purifiers. The company has also been shortlisted by the Roads and Highways Ministry for three road contracts and the evaluation is currently ongoing.

From excerpts of the 46-minute documentary, it also emerged that the company was engaged in the sale of contracts and was ready to sell one worth a ¢22.3 million to a non-existent entity during undercover investigation.
