Sports Ministry involved in visa racketeering

The Sports Ministry and the National Sports Authority (NSA) have been accused of facilitating the acquisition of visas for 50 'Journalists' who have been deported from Australia.

They had travelled there under the guise of being journalists who were going to cover the ongoing Commonwealth Games and were busted by the Australian Border Force (ABF) as they tried to gain entry.

Some of the affected people said they were charged between GHS15,000 and GHS22,000 in order to help them secure visas to Australia.
