Thousand of Cedis lost to politically connected persons over auctioned confiscated cars

It has been revealed that Ghana loses thousands of cedis as a result of confiscated cars being auctioned cheaply to people who are politically connected.

JoyNews investigations have uncovered how the country lost thousands of cedis after confiscated cars were auctioned cheaply by politically connected individuals.

At least in one case, the duty on a vehicle was captured to have been paid for by the Office of the President.

These vehicles are part of 151 confiscated cars that the Director of Political Affairs at the Chief of Staff Office, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, wrote to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to be allocated to selected beneficiaries.
